Japanese herp-

"The koto," a traditional Japanese instrument, has ancient roots dating back to the Yayoi period, with fragments of the instrument found in archaeological sites. Its distinctive elongated shape is visually striking, making it a popular motif in traditional Japanese patterns. Even today, it is used in designs for kimono and obi. Additionally, the "koto-bashira," the tool used to adjust the pitch of the koto strings, features elegant curves that are appreciated as a standalone motif in various patterns.
