The Swastika-

The pattern, known as "saya-ayame," is derived from the textile "sha-aya" introduced from China during the Momoyama period. It features a continuous arrangement of stylized swastikas, sometimes referred to as "manji tsunagi." While this motif was historically designated for the jubilant occasions and formal attire of women, particularly in the form of han'eri collars, it is now commonly used as a pattern for kimonos and nagajubans.
