Crane and Turtle-
The crane and turtle patterns have been used at any happy occasions like wedding in Japan.
Cranes represent longevity since they are said to live for a thousand years in China.
Even in Japan, since cranes have beautiful pure white feathers, and beautiful standing and flying figure, they have been used as auspicious patterns by the upper class and the public.
The turtle pattern is much older than the crane and can be found in crafts made at the Yayoi period.
Turtles are often drawn with cranes rather than alone and are used as a symbol of longevity.
